Good settings

Confirmed high quality settings that work with the iPhone:

(Screen capture from Quicktime Pro)

If you need the file size smaller try a lower bitrate like 500kbits/sec or 700kbits/sec

Easy settings:

Quicktime Pro also has the option to create a .m4v with the Movie to iPhone option:

(Screen capture from Quicktime Pro)

If you do not like to .m4v and want to have a .mov or .mp4 just do this:

  1. Open the .m4v in quicktime
  2. click file -> save as...
  3. in the file name area add your preferred .mov or .mp4
  4. select a destination for the file to be saved
  5. make sure the radial for "Save as self-contained movie" is selected (this is important)
  6. click save
